Scholarship

The Church Musicians Guild has a long tradition of supporting fledging organists in their training. This monetary award is given to applicants demonstrating talent for organ playing and commitment to music ministry within the Diocese of Buffalo. The winner of this scholarship will receive a $500 prize and all applicants will receive a one-year membership to the guild, free of charge.

The audition is comprised of three parts: an interview, demonstration of hymn playing on the organ and performance of one major piece of literature for either the piano or organ. Previous winners may audition a second time and musicians who are primarily pianists are considered.
